We recommend that if you have access to a face mask, you wear this whilst visiting our clinics. Our Doctors and Nursing team are wearing masks themselves to ensure not only their own health and safety, but yours as well.

The health and safety of our staff and our patients is our priority. To enable us to continue to deliver skin checks and treatment, and to protect their health, if you have;

  • Returned from a hot spot in either Victoria or New South Wales within 14 days;
  • Have flu like symptoms;

  • Are awaiting COVID-19 test results;

  • Have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days;

  • If you reside with a person who is under self-isolation due to returning from travel or has flu like symptoms;

Please do not attend our clinic. If you have an upcoming appointment and answer yes to any of the above, please phone our clinic on 4032 8700 to reschedule your appointment.

Recall Reminders for Skin Checks

We have delayed all recall reminders at this time due to COVID-19. You may receive a reminder message over the coming weeks from our clinic. To ensure we are able to adhere to the appropriate social distancing measures, the number of the available appointments is decreased. We may not be able to provide you an appointment with your regular doctor but have several other doctors who are able to conduct your skin check for you.

If you are due for your skin check and wish to postpone until late 2020, we ask you phone our reception team and advise.

If you have an appointment you still wish to attend, we have put the following measures in place upon arrival to our clinic:

  • Check in with our reception staff upon arrival;

  • Please stand behind the tape. This is to protect our staff and ensure their safety;

  • You will be asked the above 5 questions. Please note, you will be asked to leave the clinic should you answer yes to any of the above. We strongly advise you phone our clinic to reschedule prior to your appointment if you are unwell;

  • All patients are to wait in their cars or outside the clinic until their appointment time. Our reception team will call you when the doctor is ready;

  • Only patients will be allowed into our clinics. Any family or friends will be asked to wait outside of the clinic or in their cars. We understand there will be times where a carer or guardian must be present, we ask you please speak with our reception team for further guidance.

Our doctors are able to provide telehealth services to those patients who are unable to attend the clinic for review appointments. Please phone our reception team on 4032 8700 to enquire further.

Should I attend my appointment?

If you are unsure whether you should attend your appointment;

  • If you are elderly or have health issues, we suggest you phone and speak with reception for advice on whether you should reschedule for a later date to protect your health;

  • You can phone our reception team on 4032 8700 and speak with a staff member for guidance;

  • If you have a spot of concern, you can take a photo and email this through to info@newcastleskincheck.com.au or text the details to 0492 891 019. We will have one of our doctors review and advise whether you should attend an appointment in clinic. If you wish to send a photo, please take this in a well lit area and ensure the camera is focused on the spot of concern.

There are many things you can do to help stop the spread and protect your health and safety. Visit https://preview.nsw.gov.au/covid-19 for further information.

 What we are doing here at Newcastle Skin Check

The team at Newcastle Skin Check is dedicated to trying to provide a safe environment for our staff and our patients. We have put several measures in place to help protect those within our clinics:

  • Every patient who phones for an appointment or attends our clinic is asked several screening questions;

  • Each staff member is screened each day upon arrival for their shift;

  • All of our doctors are using the appropriate PPE to protect themselves;

  • Hand sanitiser readily available for staff members and patients;

  • All of our staff are being retrained in hand washing technique;

  • All staff are practicing Social Distancing;

  • We have reduced our waiting room capacity;

  • We have longer appointment times to allow for the consulting room to be sanitised;

  • Any non-urgent appointments have been postponed to a later date;

  • Where possible, our doctors are teleconferencing with patients to minimise exposure.
